Estuary Baseline and Construction Monitoring Plan in Makara Estuary, New Zealand
The Makara Estuary Baseline and Construction Monitoring Plan was developed to measure biological community change and sedimentation rates within the estuary.
As part of the resource consents for the Mill Creek Windfarm, pre, during and post construction monitoring was stipulated as a condition. The Makara Estuary Baseline and Construction Monitoring Plan was developed to measure biological community change and sedimentation rates within the estuary. Autumn and spring baseline surveys were completed and analysed. Construction commenced in 2012 and the construction monitoring phase is currently underway with 3 surveys having been completed (autumn 2013, spring 2013 and autumn 2014).
