Celebrating Success at the Sustainable Business Awards 2023

Last week we had the privilege to attend the 21st Annual Sustainable Business Awards as a finalist for the Climate Action Leader Award.

The awards aim to recognise and celebrate sustainability success among organisations, individuals, and partnerships. In particular, the Climate Action Leader Award acknowledges an organisation that demonstrates a robust commitment to enhancing climate change resilience within its own operations or for its clients and communities. This commitment is showcased through demonstrating innovation and transformational change. 

Being selected as finalists was a remarkable achievement, underscoring the collective efforts made not only in New Zealand but also globally to address the challenges of climate change and sea level rise. It was truly incredible to be surrounded by so many value-driven organisations, helping to create a more sustainable Aotearoa. A heartfelt congratulations to Ecotricity and all the other winners of the evening; your accomplishments are truly well-deserved!

Our initiative - the development of sustainable shoreline management strategies for climate change (CC) and sea level rise (SLR) resilience - exists within a growing market as these issues continue to impact vulnerable coastal communities. A significant proportion of the world’s population lives near the coast and is increasingly at risk due to climate change and sea level rise, our goal is to mitigate negative impacts and build resilience along our coastlines.

We hope to be back next year as we continue to pursue opportunities that contribute to a sustainable and resilient future!
