eCoast developed a report to aid Whanganui District Council in management decisions regarding the ~3.4 km stretch of coastline adjacent to the suburb of Castlecliff, Whanganui, Manawatu-Whanganui region. Castlecliff Beach is situated at the northern flank of the Whanganui River mouth, central to the South Taranaki Bight. This coastal area includes the open, titanomagnetite sand beach, a dune system, wetlands, vegetated sedimentary cliffs, recreational areas and infrastructure. From the investigations found, eCoast made recommendations for the development of a coastal management strategy for the Castlecliff area.
