Shaw and Ed headed to the first ever European Surf Park Summit last week, held at Surf Snowdonia in North Wales. They joined 75 delegates from around the world to learn more about wave pool technology and meet the Surf Snowdonia senior management team.
Wave generation technologies are starting to emerge around the world and it was a valuable opportunity to see how eCoast can contribute various skillsets to assist with this specific growth.
Not only did they have a chance to learn more about this world-first tech, they also had a chance to test it out for themselves. The wave is certainly a lot of fun and caters really well for learners and those looking to progress.
Attendees also got to see legendary surfer Shane Beschen grab a few waves. Raglan’s very own Billy Stairmand competed in the first ever surf comp on a manmade wave, which was held at Surf Snowdonia in 2015. Photos and video of Billy came up throughout the conference... he was a part of history.
The European Surf Park Summit was organised by Surf Park Central and the San Diego State University Center for Surf Research.
